A Family on the Move
Meet the Romans
We’re a family of five on an journey around the globe. Our adventure began in the summer of 2023 when the rising living costs, relentless negativity & crime in the media, and a desire for fresh perspectives spurred us to temporarily leave our home in the USA.
Our tribe comprises Dannia and Jody, former Air Force colleagues who are now partners in life, and our three diverse children. So far this traveling experience has been a fantastic learning opportunity for all of us, especially our kids. It’s improved their ability to navigate maps, problem-solve, and deepened their understanding of world history & culture.
Our journey began in countries with a lower cost of living, with Argentina set as our year-end destination. This adventure has taken us far from the scorching heat and desert landscapes of Las Vegas that left us craving for greener, vibrant vistas. Now, we’re savoring local cuisines and immersing ourselves in the beautiful array of natural landscapes we encounter. The lush greenery and vivid environments are a refreshing contrast to the sparse greenery we were accustomed to in Vegas.
Travel does come with its share of challenges, such as budgeting for accommodations and picking the right stays to ensure everyone has their own space. But we’re navigating these hurdles together. Our travel planning strategy is centered around finding economical direct flights, and we’ve made a habit of transforming our layovers into destinations.
Our shared love for travel dates back to our Air Force days when we’d hop onto a Ryanair flight in Germany and explore countries like Spain, Austria, and the Netherlands. Today, we’re eager to share our experiences and practical advice with you, in the hope of inspiring others who dream of travel.
Our blog provides city guides, travel deal tips, and suggestions for being a successful Airbnb host. Above all, we’re living proof that exploring the world with your kids is a dream that can indeed become a reality. Join us as we continue to unearth new experiences and find inspiration!
